n8n automation agency for systems you actually own

Most automation agencies rent you per-task SaaS. We build open-source, self-hostable n8n systems you own outright — AI-native workflows with no per-task fees and no vendor lock-in.

01 / MAP

Audit the manual workflows and hand-offs that actually cost your team time.

02 / BUILD

Architect n8n workflows with AI steps, custom integrations, and error handling.

03 / AUTOMATE

Run it self-hosted on your own infrastructure — fully owned, fully logged.

Founder-led automation systems since 2014 — we run netholics.com on the n8n automation we build.

~/what-it-is

An n8n automation agency builds the workflows. You keep the keys.

An n8n automation agency designs, builds, and maintains automated workflows on n8n — an open-source automation platform you can self-host. Instead of stitching your business together with rented Zapier or Make subscriptions that charge per task, an n8n agency delivers a system you own end to end: the workflows, the integrations, the data, and the server it runs on.

Netholics builds these as AI-native systems. Workflows trigger on real events, call the Claude API to draft, classify, or decide, and push results into the tools you already use — your CRM, your inbox, your WordPress publishing pipeline. Nothing is locked into a closed platform, and every run is logged and reversible.

~/what-we-build

What we build on n8n

Custom workflows

Multi-step automations that move data between your apps, apply real business logic — branching, filtering, retries — and run on triggers, schedules, or webhooks instead of manual effort.

AI agents & integrations

n8n workflows that call the Claude API to draft, classify, summarise, and decide — connected to your CRM, helpdesk, database, and APIs through authenticated, custom integrations.

Self-hosted ops

n8n deployed on your own infrastructure, with backups, monitoring, and documentation — so the automation keeps running and your data never leaves your control.

What an n8n automation system includes

Each piece removes manual work without taking humans out of the decisions that matter.

01

Workflow architecture

Mapped end to end — triggers, branches, and hand-offs designed before a single node is built, so the system scales instead of sprawling.

02

Custom nodes & integrations

Authenticated connections to the tools n8n doesn’t cover out of the box — your internal APIs, niche SaaS, and databases, wired in cleanly.

03

AI steps (Claude API)

Drafting, classification, extraction, and routing powered by the Claude API — tuned with prompts and guardrails, with human approval where it counts.

04

Error handling & monitoring

Retries, fallbacks, and alerting so a failed step pages a human instead of failing silently — every run captured in logs you can audit.

05

Self-host setup & docs

n8n deployed on your infrastructure with backups and clear documentation, so your team can run, extend, and trust the system without us in the loop.

~/why-n8n

Why we build on n8n, not Zapier or Make

Because you keep control of the cost and the code. n8n is open-source and self-hostable, so there are no per-task fees, no per-seat pricing, and no vendor lock-in — you own the workflows and the server they run on. It also handles complex logic, custom code steps, and deep integrations that the simpler rented tools can’t, which matters once your automations stop being toy two-step flows.

This is the same pattern Netholics runs on its own infrastructure. We start with an AI Systems Audit, map where automation creates real leverage, and recommend the right tool honestly — if a simpler tool genuinely fits your scale, we’ll say so rather than over-engineering. n8n earns the build when you need ownership, complex logic, or AI in the loop. If you want the broader picture first, see what our AI automation agency builds across the stack.

~/how-it-runs

How an n8n workflow actually runs

A trigger — a schedule, a webhook, a new record, or an inbound message — starts an n8n workflow. n8n runs the logic node by node, calls the Claude API to draft or decide when the step needs intelligence, then pushes the result into your app or CRM and fires the next action. Every run is logged, and it all runs on your own server.

~/faq

n8n automation agency questions.

What does an n8n automation agency do?

It designs, builds, and maintains automated workflows on n8n — an open-source, self-hostable platform. A good agency delivers a system you own: the workflows, the integrations, the data, and the server, with AI steps and monitoring built in, rather than renting you per-task SaaS.

n8n vs Zapier or Make — why n8n?

n8n is open-source and self-hostable, so there are no per-task fees and no vendor lock-in — you own everything. It also handles complex logic, custom code, and deep integrations the simpler rented tools can’t. If your needs are genuinely simple, those tools may be fine, and we’ll say so.

Do we have to self-host n8n?

No, but it’s where n8n’s advantages come from. Self-hosting means no per-execution billing and full data control on your own infrastructure. We handle the setup, backups, and monitoring; if you’d rather not run a server, n8n’s managed cloud is an option we can build on too.

Can n8n run AI agents?

Yes. n8n has native AI and HTTP nodes, so workflows can call the Claude API to draft, classify, extract, and decide — then act on the result. We add prompts, guardrails, and human approval so the AI does useful work without going off the rails.
